Allium sphaerocephalon
These alliums in a purple-red hue are also called "drumsticks". Highly recommended for planting between perennials and for naturalising. Drumsticks flower when most perennials are already well in leaf but will not show any flowers yet. Plant them in large numbers nicely in the perennial border. This allium attracts butterflies and bees during flowering.
